Position Summary

Digital marketing tracking and measurement is central to our success. As such, we are looking to expand our current analytics team with the addition of a tag implementation specialist. This person must be a self-starter with demonstrated experience in Google Tag Manager, HTML, DOM, and JavaScript. The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking skills for problem-solving, an eagerness to learn, with strong attention to detail.

The expected hourly rate is between $20 and $28 per hour depending on experience. Between 15 to 20 hours per week.

General Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the analytics team to implement, test, and troubleshoot tracking in tag management systems
  • Support data collection and experimentation to drive innovating tracking and measurement solutions
  • Supports analytics implementation, customization, and automation of data collection processes

Technical Requirements

  • Tag Management experience (Google Tag Manager preferred) using the following concepts
    • Versioning
    • Variable management
    • Accessing a website’s Data Layer
    • Trigger setups
    • Placing tracking code snippets (a.k.a. pixels)
    • Ecommerce tracking
  • A general understanding of HTML and the Document Object Model (DOM)
  • Experience using JavaScript
    • NOTE: Preference is a candidate that can write code without leveraging a 3rd party library (a.k.a. Vanilla JavaScript)
    • Ability to use looping structures to pull data out of objects or arrays
    • Writing reusable methods/functions
    • Ability to access, retrieve, and manipulate DOM nodes
    • Familiarity with scripting in tag management platforms such as Google Tag Manager
    • A general knowledge of ECMAScript
    • Setting and accessing cookie or local storage data
  • Tag Validation and Testing
  • Proficient in using the browser’s developer’s tools
    • Viewing source code
    • Verifying cookie or local storage data
    • Monitoring network signals to verify events and event parameters
    • Viewing event handlers associated with various end user actions
    • Ability to use the Console
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Previous agency experience a plus, digital marketing agency experience preferred
  • Relevant industry certifications a plus

Preferred Skills:

  • SQL experience
  • PowerBI and Looker Studio experience
  • Familiarity of Consent Management systems such as OneTrust
  • Server-side tracking experience
  • Previous experience using Meta’s Conversion API (CAPI)
  • Awareness of Conversion Rate Optimization tools and A/B testing methodologies
